Prayer Shawl Ministry Challenge
The Prayer Shawl Ministry received a large donation of yarn. This yarn is perfect for blankets! We invite anyone who knits or crochets to help us transform this lovely gift into blankets to be distributed at the SAMM Shelter. All it will take is a short amount of time to make just one or two rectangles that will be part of a blanket. If you are interested in helping, please contact René Johnson @ 210-493-4304.

It has been almost one year since the Prayer Shawl Ministry began meeting every Wednesday evening to knit shawls to give to those who need them. During this time, we have made and donated almost 30 shawls to individuals and institutions. We have also completed the squares for one blanket for "Warm Up America" and are working on a second blanket.
We have 12 people who come each Wednesday evening. Anyone is welcome to join us if you are interested in making shawls. The shawls are usually knit or crocheted. We can teach anyone who is interested. Almost without exception each shawl has a story and the shawl makers are so blessed in making them for someone else. Some of our shawls have stayed close to home and some have traveled far. We have even inspired a prayer shawl ministry in another church. We look forward to continuing this ministry.
To those who have requested shawls and those who have made donations, thank you for your support and generosity.
We will soon be listed on the website for the Prayer Shawl Ministry (www.shawlministry.com) which started this work and celebrate their 10-year anniversary this year.
