FOSA KIDS NURSERY AND PRESCHOOL
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY LETTER TO PARENTS
“Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” Matthew 19:14
Teaching the children at The Fellowship of San Antonio (FOSA) is such a blessing to those who teach. We have some gifted teachers who faithfully volunteer their time each week to teach children about God. We also have wonderful volunteers who serve each month to help in the nursery and preschool division. We praise God for their consistent and faithful service.
I’m writing this week to encourage parents of preschool children to consider volunteering once a month, every two months or every three months in the preschool classes. Every Christian knows a relationship with God changes lives. Kid-size relationships begin on the floor. It will help your child learn more about God's love for them when they experience the consistent, ongoing care of parents helping tell the stories. Don’t miss the joy of hearing a two-year-old tell you that Christmas is Jesus birthday.
Children learn through repetition, senses, play, imitation and hands-on-experiences. The investment we make in their lives now will pay off when we see them walk through the church doors with expectancy and joy. A child may not remember what you say about God, but you will have started the child on his or her own journey of faith.
Parents, if you have a child in the FOSA children’s programs, come AND have some fun with them so they learn to imitate you. Come and build some “Kid-Size” relationships. Get up close and personal on the floor.

The class time is structured to stimulate learning and reinforce Biblical truths while helping children to apply them to everyday situations.

NURSERY CARE FOR INFANTS AND TODDLERS
Birth through ages 2
Our Nursery is located inside the church building in close proximity to the worship center. It provides a safe and comfortable environment for infants and toddlers to learn about the love of God. They hear simple stories about Jesus and his Disciples. It is in the nursery where they will learn to sing “Jesus loves me”. Where did you learn the words to that song? The stories and music are fun and age appropriate for infants and toddlers to learn how much God loves them, and how easy it is for them to love Him back.
We invite, you as parents of an infant or toddler, to visit our Nursery at any time.
We are anxious to get to know you and welcome your child into our family of God!
WHAT TO BRING
- A minimum of two diapers
- A change of clothes
- A plastic bottle or sippy-cup (unless breast fed only)
- A pacifier; if used, on a short ribbon with a clip at the other end
- A blanket, stuffed toy or any other comfort item for your child
Please be sure to label your child’s belongings so that they all come back home with you.
EARLY CHILDHOOD PRESCHOOL CLASSES
2 years old to kindergarten
The Early Childhood and Preschool class rooms are located in the Buckner Fanning School just outside the rear entrance to the worship center. You will be met with a warm smile and a welcoming hand that will direct you to the class rooms.
The goal of our volunteer Children’s Ministry Team is to join forces with parents and our church body to build strong, spiritual roots in the lives of children in our fellowship and community, which will lead them to a personal relationship with Jesus.
Statistics indicate that 75% of moral values are learned by age five. At FOSA we are committed to make our preschool ministry a top priority. Three to five year olds are eager and ready to learn. At age two they already know that church is a good place to be.
